annie's family shower

so, last saturday, annie's mom and mother-in-law to be threw her a girly family shower. it was so cute! it went along with her and travis' wedding theme perfectly...classy, and all black and white.  when we first got there, i just walked around taking pictures of the decor.  the ladies (and annie's AWESOME grandma to be!) did a great job!

look at that cute lil bride!!!

yummmmmmm food set up

awesome cake!!!!

after we got there and got settled, i took pictures of all the guests that had arrived (so far).  our little bride to be was stuck in traffic, so we got some wine and hung out for a bit.  getting to mix up the families was fun!

and then, YAY! our bride is here!

we played a couple of games, the first one about giving the bride and groom advice for a long and happy marriage. i told her "do things together, but also keep your independence. its important to have a life beyond your husband.  and be patient. living with a boy is HARD!!!"  she got some other fun ones, like her mom telling her to buy two sets of sheets, or someone (not sure who) saying to use portion control on the sexual favors.  ;)

after that game, we played a getting to know the couple game. there were 10 questions, and guess who won with a 9 out of 10?  THIS GIRL!  i know, i can't believe i missed one either. but it was a doozy! carolyn (family friend) came 2nd runner up with 6 correct.  then it was time for presents!

annie and her two moms!

duh.

annie's mom made her the B for mrs baker, and then travis wrote the name underneath.  ok ladies, collective "awwwwww."

my gift hadn't arrived yet (dang you ETSY!) and so i printed a picture for her. its a Mrs. Baker hanger for her dress!

all in all, i think annie had a fun day, got a lot of good presents (including a kitchen aid and a TV!!!) and so that's what matters.  it was her last shower, so everyone feel free to be liberal with the wedding gifts! haha.

love you stais!

birthday continues....(warning, this is a long one)

so when we last left off, i was waking up and going to work after a night on the town with pearland crossfit.  needless to say, i was not feeling my best, but a special birthday free starbucks made my day a little better.  :)  i went to work, wrote the last blog, and then headed to azur salon for my haircut and color by ashley. this was my parent's birthday present to me, and i was super excited. after yet ANOTHER glass of wine at the salon, i was all fixed up and ready to go!

ashley (katie's reccomendation) did a great job on my hair, and around 5PM i was headed home for the next part of my birthday celebrations!

after i got some medicine and soup for my poor lil sick hubby, i went home, washed up, and got ready for my parents to arrive.  they came all the way to pearland to take us to dinner and to spend the night with their baby girl!  they got there, and we packed it in my dad's awesome truck and went down to killen's steakhouse. if you have not been, this place is AMAZING.  here are some food pics for those interested.....

left, mac and cheese, center creamed corn, right au gratin potatoes.  the waiter said, let me know if you need anything else yellow! haha

left, carrot cake, right creme brule bread pudding

once we had some wine and ate entirely too much, we got back in dad's big ol truck and headed for the house.  we all pretty much passed out from a food coma, but OH-EM-GEE it was worth it.

the next day, i woke up, ran some errands, and then went to annie's family wedding shower. (post coming soon).  after i got home from that, jenn, rachael, cacey, kyle, and brandon came and picked me up for the next part of my birthday outing...TOP GOLF!!! like the best friend and husband that they are, gloria and oliver had already been up there for HOURS waiting on a reservation for us. this place is seriously like a club, bar, and driving range rolled into one. it was SO MUCH FUN.  here's some of our car ride and arrival...

the peeps in attendance were: hope and chris, annie and travis, becks and james, cacey, gloria and david,  rachael and kyle, jenn and brandon, oliver and myself......am i forgetting anyone??? it was SO. MUCH. FUN.  we waited for awhile at the bar, ended up having a private lounge area, and then played us some golf.  mixed into that was some drinking games, fighting with the people at the lane next to us, flirting with top golf employees to get free stuff, payment of $10 for cacey to eat a nasty nacho by gloria, and many more crazy things that i just can't seem to remember for some reason.  hmm not sure why.

after we were done with our golfin, we went to some bar downtown where david had friends meeting up.  we had been at top golf for quite awhile at this point, so we were ready for a change of venue.  some of the group went home, and the pearland/friendswood crew headed downtown. i have no clue what the bar was named. all i know is, once we got there, i got behind the bar and bartended the rest of the night.

i think everyone else had fun there too.  oliver said he played darts, gloria said she had a sing-off from cacey and jenn...but literally, i was behind that bar the entire night.  love it.

(***thank you to my good friend jennifer hayford for being the photographer on the saturday night festivities!***)

so that concludes my bday!  up next.....annie's shower and some special exciting news!!  (for those of you who don't know me in real life, or who don't follow me on facebook, or have been living under a rock for the past month. and no, i am not pregnant.)  here's a hint.....i may or may not have opened a business, and my favorite photographer and i may or may not have had our first styled shoot this weekend.....eeee!!!
