so, it's that time of year in houston again. when you go to work half drunk off beer and lack of sleep, where your pants get a little tighter because of your intake of BBQ and taco cabana late night food.....RODEO time!!
since oliver is on a committee this year, we have gone quite a bit more than we typically do. and that is saying a lot, since i have gone at least 2-3 times a year since before i could walk. now that we live in pearland, we figured out that the best way to get to the rodeo is to drive over to the tram, pay $20, and hop on. it literally drops you off right in front of the food tents and at the entrance to the carnival. we have never had any sort of wait, and the parking lot where you left the truck is usually pretty low key.
(the only better option i have done this year was actually staying at the reliant holiday inn, which is located in the yellow lot. that was REALLY easy. thanks mom!)
so this year, we did the cookoff, gary allen, allen jackson, lady antebellum, jake owen, and we are going to do blake shelton tonight and GEORGE STRAIT on sunday. i am a wee bit excited about george. :)
i have had a blast going to the rodeo this year. i ran into all sorts of people i haven't seen in awhile, including colleen and amanda:
and EVERY time we get onto the train platform it reminds me of platform 9 3/4 from harry potter and i have to say "all aboard the platform!!" with a British accent. i'm sure that's not annoying at all.
on military night my mom and i went and stayed SO CLOSE to the rodeo. this is mom walking out of our hotel lobby.
and also that night there were some awesome airforce guys that came down with the american flag for military appreciation.
